Foodie Fridays - Simple Oven Baked Butter Lemon Prawns

A few of you have asked me about the Oven Baked Butter Lemon Prawns when I shared he photo last Friday, so here is the recipe!

Forget about the saying that prawns are high in cholesterol, the DinoFamily love prawns and we can never get enough of it!  So far we have steamed it with garlic or sour plum sauce, stir fried it either alone or with vegetables or thrown them into soup.  I recently found a really simple recipe and we fell in love with it the minute we put the prawns into our mouths.

And the beauty of this recipe is, it only requires 3 main ingredients and takes only 15mins to cook it.  You can either eat it on its own, with plain rice or spaghetti, don't forget to drizzle the lemon butter juice on top.

Ingredients
* 650g Prawns
* 1 stick of butter
* 1 lemon

Seasoning
* 1 bottle of dried Italian seasoning

Method
1. Remove the  prawn heads and shell except the tail, wash and deveined them
2. Preheat oven to 175 degrees.
3. Line your baking tray with aluminum foil.
4. Put the butter on the tray and put it into the oven to melt them.
5. Thinly slice the lemons and lay them on the melted butter.
6. Lay the prawns on top of the lemon.
7. Sprinkle generously the Italian seasoning on the prawns.
8. Bake them at 175 degrees for about 15mins.
9. Serve them on a plate and drizzle the lemon butter juice onto the prawns.

Notes
1. My 12 prawns is about 380g so I only use half a stick of butter though I still use 1 whole lemon to line the baking tray.
2. If you prefer, you can bake for 7-8mins then turn the prawns over, sprinkle some more Italian seasoning and bake for another 7-8mins.

Lastly, 12 prawns between the 3 of us is definitely not enough!  I wish I had bought 1kg or even 2kg prawns and a butter lemon shrimp feast!
